Prevents duplicate company records. The company name is compared loosely (so "Acme Inc." and "Acme, Incorporated" line up), while address, phone, and website details must match exactly.
# | Field | Matching method |
1 | Name | Fuzzy: Company Name |
2 | BillingStreet | Exact |
3 | Website | Exact |
4 | Phone | Exact |
5 | BillingPostalCode | Exact |
6 | BillingCity | Exact |
7 | BillingState | Exact |
Filter logic:
(1 AND (2 OR 3 OR 4 OR 5 OR (6 AND 7))) OR (3 AND (4 OR 2))
Because company names alone are unreliable, a fuzzy name match must be corroborated by contact or address details — but two Accounts can also match on strong signals (website + phone/street) even without a name match, which catches renamed or rebranded companies. In plain terms, two Accounts match if either of the following is true:
Same Account Name (fuzzy), plus at least one of: same Billing Street, Website, Phone, Postal Code, or same Billing City + State, or
Same Website, plus same Phone or same Billing Street
