Objective

Learn to navigate and use the Visual Workspace to map Salesforce business processes and metadata elements.

Visual Workspace Overview

The Visual Workspace is Sweep’s AI-powered canvas where you can visually explore how business processes and metadata move through your Salesforce org.

It automatically maps your metadata relationships, including objects, fields, and automations, and color-codes them for clarity.

The workspace helps teams see the entire connected process: how leads move to opportunities, which automations fire along the way, and what dependencies exist across systems.

You can:

  • Create multiple process canvases to map different business areas (e.g., Lead Lifecycle, Renewals, Support).

  • Zoom in to see technical details like triggers, automations, and dependencies.

  • Connect the technical layer (metadata) with business context (stages, objects, processes).

  • Access documentation directly from the visualization to see underlying configuration details.

How to Use the Visual Workspace

  1. Accessing Visual Workspace

    • From Sweep’s top navigation bar, click Visual Workspace.

    • This opens your canvas gallery, where you can create new visualizations and view existing ones.

  1. Click “+” - at the top bar.

  2. Add Business Processes- Import existing record types and visualize them directly on the canvas.

  3. Add Metadata Elements - Add metadata components such as fields, flows, validation rules, and more to enrich your visualization.

  4. Templates & Plugins - Sweep provides a library of predefined business processes - like Pre-Pipeline Funnels or Renewal Flows - to help you get started quickly.
Plugins are add-ons that enhance these processes with additional capabilities, such as Data Management and Dynamic Path.

  5. 3rd-Party Integrations - Add external business processes from other systems to your canvas using integrations.

Coming Soon: AI Process Mining - You’ll be able to describe your process in plain text, and Sweep will automatically visualize the related processes and metadata on the canvas.

Exploring the Visual Workspace

  • Business Processes are color blocked by the Salesforce object (e.g. Lead, Opportunity, Case).

  • Metadata Elements are color blocked by the metadata types.

  • Arrows show how business logic and metadata are connected.

  • Click on any node (like MQL or Meeting Booked) to see:

    • Related Salesforce automations

    • Dependencies and referenced objects

    • Embedded technical documentation describing what happens at each stage

Navigating and Customizing

  • Zoom In/Out to focus on specific stages or connections.

  • Use the Fit View control at the bottom right to recenter your canvas.

Integrated Documentation Access

  • While using the Visual Workspace, you can access Sweep Documentation associated with each business process. This includes details like validation rules, automation flows, Apex code, and other configurations, giving you a complete view of the process and any dependencies.

  • Click Documentation View to access metadata cards, AI explanations, and dependencies for that element.

  • This bridges visual process mapping with technical documentation in one view.

Use Cases

  • Process Discovery: Instantly generate a visual representation of how your Salesforce processes actually operate, without manually tracing flows in Setup.

  • System Mapping: Visualize relationships between key objects, automations, and dependencies to understand your org’s architecture at a glance.

  • Change Impact Analysis: Before making changes, see what other objects or automations will be affected, reducing risk in deployments.

  • Optimization: Identify redundancies, disconnected automations, or bottlenecks in your sales or service processes.

  • Onboarding & Training: Use interactive visualizations to help new admins, developers, and RevOps team members learn how your org works faster.

  • Documentation Integration: Access detailed metadata cards directly from the map to maintain accurate, living documentation for every process.

  • Audit & Compliance: Track where sensitive fields flow and which automations interact with them to support governance and security reviews.
