Objective

By the end of this module, you’ll be able to:

  • Install the Sweep Managed Package in your Salesforce environment.

  • Understand what functionality the Managed Package unlocks compared to browser-only mode.

  • Verify that installation and permissions are correctly set up.

The Managed Package establishes a secure connection between your Salesforce environment and Sweep. It’s what enables Sweep to go beyond analysis and actually act on your metadata — powering automations, deduplication, deployment, and monitoring.

What the Managed Package Enables

Sweep can be connected directly through your browser, or installed as a Managed Package inside Salesforce.

Both options give you insight into your metadata, but only the Managed Package allows Sweep to interact directly with your Salesforce org.

There are two ways to do to install the managed package from Sweep: from the Environment Manager or directly through Impact Analysis → Documentation. Let’s go through both.

Install via Environment Manager

  • From the top-right corner of your Sweep dashboard, click the Environment Selector dropdown.

  • Select Manage Environments.

  • Find the environment where you want to install the Managed Package.

  • Click Complete Setup.

  • From here, you’ll see a link to Install the Managed Package. It will take you directly to Salesforce.

    • Log in with your Salesforce credentials.

    • Choose Install for All Users.

  • Once installed, you’ll receive a confirmation email from Salesforce.

Tip: This is the recommended method during your first-time setup. It ensures Sweep and Salesforce are linked before metadata scanning begins.

Install via Impact Analysis → Documentation

  • Navigate to Impact Analysis → Documentation in Sweep.

  • Select a Salesforce object (e.g., Lead, Opportunity, or Account).

  • When viewing Field Utilization, look for the small installation icon.

  • Click it to open a pop-up guiding you to the AppExchange or a direct installation link.

  • Follow the prompts to install the Managed Package in your Salesforce org.

Tip: Use this method if you’re exploring documentation and realize the Managed Package hasn’t yet been installed.

You’ve successfully installed and activated Sweep’s Managed Package.

You’re now ready to start scanning, documenting, and visualizing your Salesforce org with Sweep.
